I need a job, yes I do. A proper, full-time job, the kind grown-ups have. Somewhere I can go to for 8 hours a day and feel useful and maybe even have a bit of fun and meet nice people, and make some money while doing so. Now, I’ve spent the last two hours looking at job ads, and I am completely and utterly confused. First of all, they all seem to be written in a foreign language that I never learned to read, a language where a cleaning lady is a “Hygiene Engineer”, a salesperson is a “Client Service Coordinator”, and a janitor is a “Maintenance Supervisor”. If someone could direct me towards a “Job ads for dummies”, that would be very nice. I’m lost.
Now, if I could decipher the content of these ads, I’m still left with that ever-nagging question:
What do I want to be when I grow up?
This is another big issue, you see. I am what can only be described as a “potato” – I can be used for many things. I’ve studied Graphic Design for 2 years, and can whip up a good layout, illustration, or logo if that would be needed.
I usually call this guy “Squid guy”, but today we’ll call him “Exhibit A”
Now, I can also write. I’d like to make my blog exhibit B. I like to write, I have fun when I write, and I like it when other people like what I write. I’ve studied 4 languages apart from Norwegian, but I’m crap at 3 of them, so I guess I shouldn’t try for any other languages than Norwegian and English.
Oh and I’ll soon have a bachelor degree in Art History, so I guess I could work with that too. It’s what I’ve studied for the last three years, after all.
Oh and I like to take pictures.
So if there’s anyone out there who needs a writer/art historian/graphic designer/slightly confused person, let me know. I’m also quite nice, I shower regularly, and I don’t shout at strangers.
I sometimes wear my socks inside out, but that you’ll have to live with.
