Today, my friend Line and I made a scrapbook for an old friend. We haven’t really seen her for years, and she gave birth to a baby girl just two months ago – a bundle of joy named Sunniva. Going through the old photos and stories was a blast, I can’t believe it’s been almost ten years since we were joined at the hip..
We finished the book way behind schedule (thanks to Line’s loooooong lunch break, seriously, 45 minutes and she lives 2 minutes down the road!), but no harm was done and we jumped into the car and went to meet up with our friend and her baby girl.
Line doesn’t like being photographed. I like taking pictures. This is a problem.
Brand new baby! Eep! She was a very sweet little baby, according to her mommy Anne she makes french-sounding sounds and likes to burp and rest on people’s shoulders. I have so much trouble comprehending that a childhood friend is now a mom, but there she is, a tiny daughter that without a trace of doubt has my friend’s eyes. It’s beyond weird. Can you tell how happy she is? Mommy glow!
Such a sweet little lump of tiny baby goodness. Line claimed the whole ordeal had left her feeling broody – I didn’t feel anything like it. I don’t think I have a broody bone in my body. I catch myself thinking about getting a dog sometimes, but then I think “Nono, too much responsibility, a fish is fine” – no rattling ovaries here. I like it when other people get babies though! I wonder what little Sunniva will be like when she grows up. If she’ll become anything like her mom, she’ll be a very cool girl :)
Oh, and when I got home, there was a small box waiting for me from the mail – a CD! It took me a few moments to mentally put the puzzle together, but I finally remembered that I had entered a radio contest some time last week, only to forget all about it. Guess I won, huh!
It’s a good CD! Thanks, radio people! I’m listening to it right now!
