Whenever I’m staying with my parents for a holiday, it’s tradition that my mom and I go for a hike up in a mountain somewhere. It’s almost law – has to be done! Now, I am in no way a mountain goat, my legs are long and wobbly and are perfectly happy on pavement and maybe in a park if I’m feeling adventurous, but a few times a year I climb a mountain. And I really don’t mind it! It’s always a very nice experience.

Where we live, it’s spring. April, almost May-like. On the way up here, however, it was still March, and the road was covered with snow. If you haven’t walked in snow before, I can tell you that it’s a bit like walking on sand, in the way that you sink a little for each step you take. On a flat beach this is fine, but on a 3 km uphill however, it gets a bit tiring ;)

My mom, keeping it stylish with red lipstick even though we’re out in the middle of nowhere

Me, in my dad’s clothes. They’re big and I felt a bit like a toddler who’s wearing too large hand-me-downs. A 5’11 toddler.

And finally, the view. The view alone is worth a hike like this. I made a panoramic photo if anyone’s interested!
Now I’m back at my parents’ place, and my mom is busy cooking dinner – lamb roast. I could get used to this you know, but I miss the boyfriend a lot a lot a lot. On Wednesday I’ll be going back home to Bergen :)
