A short absence

Written by Maja on July 18th, 2009

First of all let me say sorry about the unannounced absence. I know one of the golden rules of blogging is “Don’t apologize for not posting”, but I feel like I have to. I don’t have a whole lot of readers compared to many others, but the ones I have are so incredibly sweet – I appreciate each and every one of you, even those of you who never comment! Yes, you too!

So why the little unannounced blog vacation? Honestly, my head has been a mush and I thought I’d spare you the brain-dribble. I’ve been worried about both things worth worrying about and of things I shouldn’t even have wasted thought on – old job, new job, do I like it, can I do it, do I want to do it, what is it that I want to do exactly anyway? And then I convince myself that I’m doomed to an eternity behind the register at the local 7-eleven, and I go bury myself under a blanket and wonder why I never went and learned how to be a cobbler or a jeweler or why my parents never forced me into liking maths and physics so that I could get a real job. Dang it, why did I have to turn out to be one of those artsy fartsy creative types, huh?

Here’s a photo of the guy who keeps cheering me up, time and time again. I love him so much. We have our 8 year anniversary coming up in about two weeks, can you believe it?

He went and bought himself a 15″ macbook pro. I’m pretty sure he wants to marry it by now. My precious 13″ Dell-baby in the background! We’re such nerds..

a job is what you make of it, a career is what you make of it, it’s all about ambition. And being a people person, its a lots about being a people person. Any good job starts froma crappy job and working your way up the ranks, there is a massive part of me that wants to be manager of the Body Shop near me, fun and you get cheap beauty products :D Silly science :(

You should come and manage the one here, I find some of the employees there to be way too snooty :D
I’m a people person, once I get into an interview people seem to love me, it’s the getting the interview part that is difficult. And deep down I know what I want, I just need to build up a bit of courage first. A lot of courage, actually.
Don’t give up science, Katey! The world needs more hippie scientists!

Do Body Shop when I worked there if you did well they would give you a goodie bag of used testers or things people brought back unused that you couldn’t sell again. It fuelled by body shop addiction and general product/ moisturiser addiction. BTW If you and Marius fancied a visit to England and wanted to visit us I would suggest soon as where we live now is lovely and where we want to move is pooey! Plus we live near Pix! You should come we can enjoy English chocolate together!!!

You know, I’d travel in a heartbeat if I could :D I’ve never been in England! I’d love to eat Smash with the two of you and Pix! I have to save up money though, we need a bigger apartment..
I love the body shop, their makeup is great and I LOVE their body butter!

Yum Yum Shea butter and Yum Yum 50%off! At least the is what I got there when I worked there. Morani tells me flights from Scandinavia are are about £15 at the moment and you are always welcome to bed down on our living room floor. We wish we could give you more plush surroundings but alas we are poor students :(

I would if it weren’t for the fact that I’m working two jobs these days. I barely got 6 days off to visit my family :) When is it you move? And where to? And why? I’m so out of ze loop!
