Link love

Today I’m going to do something I very rarely do on my blog – I know I should do it more often, but pff, I’m starting now! Better late than never.

Uh, where was I. Yes! I was going to show you three blogs that I really like. Really really like. I hope you’ll like them too :)

1. The complete truth. Swedish photoblog filled with gorgeous photos. Finding out how old the photographer is depressed me for a second – He’s 17! I smile every time there’s a new post from this one in my bloglovin’.

2. Underbara Clara. Another Swede, as I’m quite fond of Swedes. (I don’t think I’ve ever met a Swede I didn’t like.) Clara posts beautiful photos of the Swedish countryside, and writes about anything from religion to cookie recipes to feminism.

3. Hjartesmil. Hjartesmil is a Norwegian girl living in Oslo. She likes dresses and bows and her wonderful dreadlocked boyfriend. If you can read Norwegian, she’s definitely worth a read, or you can just get lost in her wonderful photographs.

In other news, I’m really looking forward to the day when I can wear one pair of tights instead of three. I hear rumors that there are people in the world who can wear no tights at all, but right now I find that very hard to believe :)

New year’s resolutions

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I’ve got them, you’ve got them, we’ve all got them. I’ve tried my best to stay realistic this year, how about you? :)

1. Work out 3 times a week. I’ve done this for a few years now, not counting the last 5 months, so it won’t be much of a challenge. I look forward to getting in shape again!

2. Be less of a slob. Seriously. I’ve lived away from my parents for more than 5 years now, it’s time I realize that the closet won’t tidy itself up.

3. Start saving up for an apartment. Savings! Tax benefits! There’s not reason not to!

4. Get long hair. Loong!

5. Start eating breakfast again, even though it’s 6.30 am and I’d rather spend those minutes sleeping.

6. Walk to work. Especially now that the mornings will start to get less dark.

7. Buy less crap. I do not need more stuff in my life. Seriously.

8. Learn to walk slowly. I don’t have to be in race car mode all the time.

9. Read more books. Because I love to read.

I think that’s enough for now, don’t you? We don’t need to put too much pressure on ourselves, there’s enough of that around already. I think I kept my proper resolutions a secret last year, but I can tell you that I managed to keep 5 out of 8 resolutions. I don’t think that’s too bad :)

… Let me count the ways!

Antlers 2

See how much sense this makes now?! Dad, you’ve definitely made an impact. ;)

Mandatory loot post

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Oh, what a wonderful evening it was! The food was perfect and a walked like a pregnant lady for the rest of the evening. Christmas eve is really one of those evenings where you wish you had four stomachs, à la cow. Without the whole regurgitation part, of course. Everyone got wonderful presents, we listened to Christmas music, and had a really nice time. It is now past 2pm on Christmas morning, and we are getting ready for breakfast. Same procedure as every year, in other words :)

Okay, onto the loot list:

- Money

- Fancy cutlery

- Persepolis on DVD

- A “World’s best sister” mug (Aaaw!)

- Makeup

- Gift cards

- A pretty handbag

- One year subscription for Elle UK (Hooray!)

- Chanel Chance perfume

- Lenore “Cooties” comic book

- A bracelet

- Swiss chocolate

- A polar pulse watch

- Clothes

The pulse watch will really come in handy. I haven’t been much of a gym bunny this winter, partly because of my health, partly because I prefer to stay inside during the dark winter months, and have thus become a bit flabby. No worries though, I’ll sort that out in January! ;)

What about you, did you get what you wanted this Christmas? :)

Christmas at the Piraja household

Never too old to get a Christmas stocking from santa

Early morning cartoons (I can’t believe they let me use this photo!)

Cozy fire in the fireplace…

And a tree filled with home-made decorations! We’re fir people, by the way, we don’t use pine trees :)

Merry Christmas everyone!
