There and back again

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

I have now, just now, finally been able to sit my butt down long enough to write a few words. Christmas, yikes! So much going on :) I thought I’d write you a little recap before I carry on with the Christmas posts. It’s been an eventful week, you see.

Monday: Flew to Oslo around 9am. Did some window shopping – wait, who am I kidding – actual shopping, and relaxed at the hotel. In the evening we saw Eddie Izzard live at Oslo spektrum, and it was amazing. The man is too funny for words! I sat right in front of the stage, 11th row, and had a great view. I’m so going to see that man live again!

Christmas dress of the year! I’ve been hunting for this bad boy in Molde AND Bergen AND Ålesund, but there were none left in my size. Oslo, you never disappoint. Also: 50% off.

Poofy underskirt, to de-sluttify aforementioned bad boy.

Eiffel tower neclace, also something I’ve been hunting for. Bergen was sold out, Downtown Oslo was sold out – Oslo airpoirt had it!

Eddie’s stage. Eddie’s twitter feed seen on the right.

Flat hair, awesome shirt.

Tuesday: Up at 5am. Plane to Molde at 8.40. My Grandpa’s funeral at 1. It was beautiful. I helped carry the casket.

Wednesday: Went shopping with my little sister early in the morning because she still had presents left to buy. *Cough* amateur *cough*! She’s also a slow shopper, so in the end I went to the library to read books on poodles and dog training. When we got back home there was wrapping of presents and sneaky secretive skulking. My old friend Line came to visit, too, and by the time I went to bed I had finished two dog books!

Unrelated – I received a photo of Nina’s blog present! I made her a monster notebook.

And that’s it! A Christmas post is right around the corner :)

2009: a summary (part two)

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Here’s part two of my year-in-review :)

July:

My best friend got engaged, and I made her a survival kit…

I worked in a tile shop and had to wear sturdy shoes… I absolutely hated it.

I photographed giant rhubarb…

I turned a toothbrush holder into an earring stand, which later got featured on ikea hacker, livemodern, lifehacker, and shelterpop. I should obviously hack stuff from ikea more often! The original post can be found here.

I visited my family for a brief week…

I made a bracelet…

And I quit the tile store job.

August:

In August I bought a new pet fish, Petronella…

I made some drawings…

I photographed a Coldplay concert…

And got a new job! Supplies were purchased.

September:

In September I debated whether or not to get bangs cut. I decided against it.

I got my first proper pay check and bought beautiful shoes…

And it rained. A lot.

October:

Winter came…

A pretty friend tried on wedding gowns for the very first time…

I was given my new favorite necklace…

And got to wear a crown at work for a whole day!

November:

In November I went to the aquarium with my aunt and two cousins…

I got sick and was put on sick leave for three weeks, two of which were spent at home with my family…

Where I took a lot of photos. About 90% of them had Luna in them…

… while the rest of them were experiments with long exposures.

Marius and I flew to Oslo and saw my favourite band…

…And we made it back to Bergen just in time for December.

December:

Christmas spirit snuck upon us…

White hair

I lost my beloved Grandpa… <3  He was the greatest..

And now I’m going home for Christmas! That was my year so far, I hope you liked my little summaries :)

I don’t mind the cold..

.. When it results in weather like this!

I honestly cannot remember the last time we had a white Christmas! But sure enough, the weather report says snow, cold, snow, cold, snow, snow, snow for the entire holiday.

I would treat you to a longer post, But seeing as we slept till 1.30pm (!!!!!) today, there’s still so much I have to do before I can sit down and be lazy. We’re leaving for Oslo (again) tomorrow morning, so we have to do the whole Christmas apartment scrub-down thing today. I think that has to be one of my new year resolutions – be less of a slob!

Okay, Marius is giving me looks now, so I guess I have to start cleaning. Have a wonderful 4th Sunday of advent! :)

Brrrrr

That is all I have to say.

Just to say Hi!

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Just a quick post tonight, I thought it was about time to post something new for you! I can tell you that I’ve received the first photo of the blog presents I sent off last week – Sofi sent me a photograph of her personal Carp sketchbook last night. I forgot to take photos of the things before I sent them off, so pictures are much appreciated :)

Cute, right? I’m really happy she liked it!

In other news, I finished all my Christmas shopping today. I had a looong list of things to do, and managed to do everything besides two things – I couldn’t burn a CD full of ebooks for Airam because my CD burner refused to work, and I skipped getting the piggie flu vaccine because I was exhausted by the time I had finished my shopping. Marius and I went out for burgers instead ;)

Oh, and don’t tell Marius, because he’s already fed up with listening to my puppy-talk, but I’ve been dreaming of dogs again. I know exactly what I want now. I present to you:

Toy sized poodle. Black. Adorable! (clicky for source, the photo is taken by Samchou)

I’ve been reading thetoypoodle.com. I’ve watched poodle grooming videos on youtube. I’ve even scouted breeders! Now all together, do this with me – gaze at the photo and sing like Mariah: “All I want for Christmas is yooooooou…”

(Yes, I am very well aware that I can’t have a dog right now. Let a girl dream!)
