Last day of 2009

1. Got up early in order to walk around town on my way to work and take photos. Took my sweet time, snapped away, and came to work ten minutes early. Or so I thought. When I entered my floor, I noticed a surprising amount of activity. Turns out, I was actually an hour late. I had set my alarm clock to 7.15 instead of 6.15 and not noticed until 9!

2. Got home around 2pm, watched some TV on the sofa with Marius. At a quarter to 6, we woke up. Woops. Time to start cooking!

3. While Marius cooks, I look at the photos I took earlier that day. They all sucked. Bringing a manual focus lens was a big mistake.

3. At 30 minutes to midnight, I pack my camera and a proper lens plus my remote control and tripod and start moving towards the hill behind our house. It is 15 degrees below zero outside, I am wearing 4 sweaters, and have a stomach full of pork ribs while walking up a steep hill. We get to the top, and I get exactly 5 shots before my battery dies. This was 5 minutes to midnight.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m happy as a clam! It’s funny how these things all seem to happen at the same time, right? Not charging the battery was my own fault, as was not checking my alarm clock better. The nap was good, and I got a great view of the fireworks over Bergen even though I didn’t get to photograph them. And Marius made delicious ribs!

These are two of the photos I did get. I don’t think they turned out too bad :)

Have a wonderful 2010!
