I love the mailman

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

This is a good day. It’s a Saturday, which means that I don’t have to set a single toe outside the front door if I don’t want to. I’m not a hermit, but it’s minus 10 degrees celcius outside. If I can stay inside watching trash on the TV while sipping my favorite tea, well then that’s exactly what I shall do!

Marius, however, has set a few toes outside, which enabled him to get today’s mail. And there was something there, something for me! But first, let me show you a present I got from Sofi of yarrkarping.com last week:

It’s a necklace! Can you see who it is?

Watch my fins. Watch them!

It’s Fiskulf!! New readers might not know who the hell Fiskulf is – He was my Siamese Fighting Fish, whom I often blogged about when he was alive. So often, in fact, that he had his own tag! Sofi is the nicest :)

So yes, both mailmen and Swedes in Scotland are awesome. And so is moo.com!

I felt fancy one day before Christmas and ordered my very first business cards! And not any old cards, no – these are 50 cards, each with a different favorite photo from my flickr photostream on the back. I get to be fancy, give away my contact information, and show off my photography at the same time! Delivery was kind of slow, it took three weeks from the cards were shipped until I had them, but I’m willing to let that one slip seeing as they were shipped right before Christmas. The cards weren’t expensive at all (160 NOK if I remember correctly) and the quality is pretty great. Moo.com gets my seal of approval :)

Have a good weekend, everyone! Got any fun plans?

Answers, part 3

Kayso: Whats your favorite healthy snack?
Cashews!

What do you like to do when you work out (running, step, spinning..?!) and how often do you work out?
The elliptical, spinning, yoga and core muscle workouts. I try to work out three times a week :)

How did you and your man meet? And for how long have you been together?
We met on the internet, 9 years ago. We’ve been a couple for 8 and a half :)

Do you eat something “different” or “weird”? Like some weird mix of something for breakfast, dinner or something?
Not really! I do put pesto on nearly everything though, and I refuse to eat any sort of dinner dish without vegetables. I frequently get mocked when I insist on eating potatos with my pancakes.

Guro: Which camera do you have, which settings do you use, and do you edit a lot?
I own a Canon 450D, the settings vary but I always shoot in manual mode, in RAW + jpg. I don’t think I edit my images a whole lot, but I often adjust the colors and expsure a bit. I rarely edit things out, unless I have, say, a giant pimple ;)

Lexie: when are you and Marius gonna get hitched?! ;)
Well, first of all I have to be asked, don’t I? I don’t think we’re at the marriage stage just yet. I don’t know. Ask Marius, next question!

Mariell: Where do you live?
I live in Bergen, Norway.

Favorite color, and why?
I like blues, greens and purples a lot. Maybe because they’re calming? I’m not a fan of yellow and orange.

What’s your worst nightmare?
Probably losing someone close to me. On a lighter note, I often have nightmares about bad hair cuts.

Martine: What are you looking forward to the most right now?
Spring!

Do you want kids?
Right now, no. Not at all. I would like a dog, though!

Ask For Answers: Who do you look up to, and why?
Ack, tough one! Anyone who makes a living doing something that they love to do, what they’re really really passionate about, no matter what it is. And also my parents, of course.

What are your favourite cosmetic products?
Juicy Tubes lipgloss, Shade #17. I’ve used this for years.
Aussie 3 minute miracle hair treatment
MAC studio sculpt foundation
Mac select moisturecover concealer
Chanel Crayon kohl eye liner (Black and brown)

Silje: Is there a reason why you write in English?
I’ve always loved English, and I like the fact that anyone can stumble upon my blog and understand what I write. Most Norwegians can read English anyway, so I don’t really feel the need to write in Norwegian. But I am aware that a lot of Norwegian readers see English and go “Ugh, NEXT!”, and that’s fine. I don’t have to appeal to everyone :)

As you can see, the largest part of my readers are Norwegian, but I still get visits from all over. And I like that :)

Cecilie M: What would you buy right now if you had 10 000kr? A Mulberry Bayswater?
Cecilie knows that I’m obsessed with a few particular handbags ;)
Maybe a Mulberry Alexa, Have you seen it? I think it might be the everyday bag of my dreams! Or maybe a holiday. Bag or holiday.

Where in Bergen would you live if you could choose freely?
Right where I live right now, but in a nicer apartment that I would own, not rent. I love this part of town! (Sandviken, for you locals)

Do you believe in God?
No, I’m not religious.

Is there anything you really really want right now? Things, goals, any category.
An Alexa bag, a toy poodle, a proper apartment, a holiday, and about 30 more degrees in temperature. In no particular order.

Where did you learn to write English so well?
School, books, the internets :) And thanks!

Theri: When do you think you’ll have children?
Not for yeeaars! It’s a tough question, as I’m not even a little bit broody right now. Not for a long time :)

Kat: First time leaving a comment here, but I see you’re again wearing this skirt, I have the same, and don’t know how to wear it, how to accompany it! ideas?
I’m guessing you mean the black one that I’m wearing here? Personally I like to wear it with a big poofy underskirt, make a proper bell shape out of it, and wear it with a more fitted top and either engineer boots or lace-up granny boots :) And hey, welcome out of the woodworks!

Aaaaand that’s a wrap! Phew, I would never have thought I would receive so many questions. I love you guys <3
