First of all – Happy Valentine’s, Norwegian Mother’s Day AND Shroventide! One Sunday, three holidays. Cards have been exchanged, chocolate has been received, and calls have been made to mothers. Maren and Kenneth made sure we were fed shroventide pastries yesterday (cream and chocolate filled buns, oh my!), so I really feel like I’ve been celebrating properly this year. I’m not Christian, but I do love the Christian holidays and the delicious pastries that follow them!
Besides eating, I have started packing this morning. I have started to realize how many jackets and shoes I own, and of course, how much crap I’ve kept around that I don’t really need. As soon as we’re settled into our new place, I’m taking a suitcase full of clothes to the Salvation Army. Just because the new place is bigger doesn’t mean I have to fill it up with things I don’t use, right?
Boxes have been acquired…
And filled with stuff…
Clothes have been stuffed into plastic bags…
And the only things left in my closet are the things I might wear over the next week.
Things we’ve been given but never unpacked are really looking forward to being unpacked into a brand new kitchen, I’m sure!
And when I’m done, I can eat my V-day chocolates.. :)
