Hi, and welcome to the “about” section of my blog! I assume you came here because you were curious about who I am, so here we go.
My name is Maja. My full name is not Maja Piraja – Maja Piraja means “Maja Piranha”, which was my unlikely high school nickname, but I like the sound of it and everyone who hears it immediately starts to smile, so I like to think it’s a pretty good name. I am 24 years old, and live in Bergen, Norway – Norway’s second largest town, with 213 days of rain a year. Is it any wonder I sit inside and blog, with weather like that? When I don’t blog, I work in a telecommunications company.
What else is there to tell? I’ve studied graphic design for two years, and I have a Bachelor degree in art history. I’m a creative person, who will sew one day, draw one day, and take photos and write pretty much every day. I’m a bit of a nerd. I’m tall. Big hair makes me happy.
Believe it or not I have been blogging since 2003. I was 17 then, and not a very good blogger, but I’ve kept the archives around for shits and giggles. I like to think I’ve become a better writer over the last 6 years. Oh, and as you’ve probably noticed, I write in English. The reason is pretty simple – my Norwegian friends can read English just fine, while my foreign friends can’t read Norwegian to save their lives :)
