One of those days.. Need I say more? After having been some kind of verbal punching bag for the last few hours at work, I was ready to drop any other plans I might have had this evening and just lie down on the floor. So I did. Some people just bring assholery to a whole new level and turn it into an art form. I need chocolate. Mean customers, eh? They keep me away from my gym plans AND make me eat chocolate on weekdays. If I suddenly turn into a whale, you know who to blame.

In other, much happier news, HOORAY for Susanna and Jon-Erling who became parents to a teeny weeny baby girl today! I can’t wait to meet her. Best of luck to all three of you (Four if we count Mozart the dog. And we should!) :)

Now, for those of you are keeping track (hah!) there are now only fifteen days left until my summer holiday, so I went to the tanning salon today for the first time in seven years in a desperate attempt to build some kind of base tan. Now, let’s be clear: I’m pale. Really pale. I spent six minutes in that bed and I’m pretty sure I still got burned. Oh well, if all else fails, I’ve got three full bottles of Aco’s Sunkissed body lotion on my bathroom shelf.

What? They were on sale!

I must say, I love how many of you remembered the Furby from your childhoods. I was way too old to buy one when it was released, so I pretended it was for somebody else when I bought it and made them gift wrap it at the store. Hah!

Today’s photo is a nice swirly shape combined with something quite mundane – freshly washed socks. Laundry day! I like how they’re all different colors, don’t you? They remind me a bit of candy. That’s how Marius and I keep our socks apart, you see. He buys all black socks, I buy colored socks. We had to, it was sock mayhem here for a while.

Look at me, sharing domestic war stories. I’ll have turned into my mom before you know it!

Yesterday I gave you the marble, today we’ve got another blast from the past – the Furby!

I love him. When he doesn’t say anything, that is, his voice is grating and he says things like “Me bored”, followed by a sigh. He stands on my book shelf next to my Roman Dirge Zombie Bunny, Gir from “Invader Zim”, and Victor from “the Corpse Bride”. They’re the book shelf crew!

In other news, I had a minor freakout today over how those little bags of mixed nuts always have something in them that I can’t eat because of allergies. So I bought a large bag of cashews, a bag of pistachios, a bag of dried banana slices and a bag of various other dried fruit and made the biggest bowl of nut-mix you ever saw. Victory! Suck on my mixed nut rebellion, nut-mix companies! I will never have to pick out the peanuts again, ever!

And that was the highlight of my day. I lead an exciting life ;)

It’s a start! :)

I have to tell you about what happened to me today – I was on my way to work, and there was a man walking next to me. At the same speed as me, so we were walking side by side for quite a distance, in that awkward way where none of you manage to speed up or slow down enough to create distance. And I walk some more, and I notice the guy glancing over to me more and more, and I start to feel a bit uncomfortable – if you’re a girl you know what I’m talking about, this is where red lights start to pop in your head, the “uh, okay, this is where we REALLY need to not walk this close anymore” kind of red lights. So I’m starting to speed up a bit, when suddenly the guy grabs my arm and goes..

“Pardon me, but I just had to tell you, you’re really stunning”

I think I managed to stutter something about how he just made my day, before he sped up and was way way ahead of me down the street. He really did make my morning, how often does this happen? Aw! Big aw!

Later in the day, Marius and I went for a barbecue in our favorite park, and we ended the day with gelato. Good day :)

Occupational Hazards

I don’t think I’ve ever asked my readers about your jobs before. What do you do for a living? I know a lot of you are students, but I’m pretty sure there’s a good handful out there with jobs as well. Me, I work in costumer support. It’s a job that gives me a lot of good stories that I’m unfortunately not allowed to re-tell. I do a mix of  technical troubleshooting, sales, general information and, let’s be honest here, therapy. I like my job. I like to make costumers happy.

Lately though, I find myself taking my job home with me. And not in the paperwork, absent-minded, can’t-talk-about-anything-but-work way. No no.

I troubleshoot in my sleep.

Oh yes. I’m a lost cause. I woke up the other day from my own sleep talking – I tried to fix a phone. I woke up while resiting one of my standard troubleshooting phrases. I have a friend who started in this job at the same time as me, and she’s been doing this for months – although, in her case, she tries to sell subscriptions in her sleep – and I’ve found this to be pretty amusing. Well, look at me now, I’m doing the exact same thing. I guess that’s what you call dedication. Slash mental illness.

In other news, I can’t wait to start my 365 day photo project! I’m currently trying to figure out how to make a makeshift photo backdrop for the living room. It has to be easily removable, and I’m pretty sure it will involve a sheet. Time will tell! :)
