Happy Birthday Marius

Friday, June 11th, 2010

First of all…

Happy birthday to the boyfriend! That’s right, Marius turns 25 today. He didn’t want to receive his present until he gets home from work, so right now I’m impatiently awaiting his arrival so that I’ll get to give it to him. I hope he likes it! This is his 9th birthday since we first met, can you believe it? Time flies.. :)

But wait, why am I “patiently awaiting his arrival”, shouldn’t I be at work? Nope, I’m at home with a painful wrist. You will not believe how slowly I am typing this. Ambidextrous I am not. It’s nothing serious, a flare-up of an old gamer injury I suppose you could call it, but painful enough to not be able to open doors with my right hand when I got up this morning. Since my work consists of using a computer for 8 hours a day, I thought it was best just to let the poor thing rest for today.

So, what have I been doing today, besides staring at the chandelier? Watched documentaries mostly. At first I watched “Stephen Fry – The secret life of the manic-depressive“, which was really interesting if you’re into that sort of thing. But really, I’d watch anything with Stephen Fry in it, wouldn’t you? Then I watched “Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton” – this one is also very interesting, but in a very different way. Fun, frantic, and French. Plus, who wouldn’t love to be a fly on the wall and watch the creative process behind a collection? I know there’s another behind-the-scenes Louis Vuitton documentary out there, but IMDB couldn’t tell me anything about it. And really, if it’s not on IMDB, it doesn’t exist. I think I’ll dig up a series on Richard Dawkins next, if Marius doesn’t get home first.. :)

Norwegian National Day

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

As some of you know, yesterday was the Norwegian national day. We spent the day at Maren and Kenneth’s place with a lot of great people, eating cakes and burgers and my banana cupcakes. I didn’t get to take a whole lot of pictures of the whole May 17th ordeal – meaning the parades, children, and people in national costumes – partly because the weather was grey and a bit cold, but mostly because I just wanted to get to the cakes as quickly as possible.

Here’s an outfit photo, please excuse the claw-like hand!

Marius was nice enough to let me take a picture of the two of us together – this is where Sir David Attenborough would do a voice over and say something like “And here we see the elusive Boyfriend, a creature rarely photographed in the wild. Cameras tend to make it bury itself in the nearest hole, or deep below the sofa cushions while clutching his PS3 controller. Such a rare sight.”

Sir David Attenborough really should do voice overs for my life more often.

I hope the rest of you Norwegian people had a wonderful National day!

Happy Birthday, kid!

Happy 17th birthday, sis! I don’t know which picture you expected me to post today, but I’m betting it wasn’t this one ;)

Also, I shall let this picture be proof that we do, on occasions, venture outside. With teddy bears in handbags. And bad haircuts.

I hope you had a great celebration!

P.S: Mom’s taking us abroad this summer. Girl trip! ;)

Hooray!
