OWLFACE!

Today it is nine years since Marius and I became a couple. Can you believe it? It sounds like such a long time, but it doesn’t feel like nine years at all! But it’s true, we both turned 16 that year, and this year we turn 25. The numbers don’t lie. The idea makes me feel a bit old, but mostly it just makes me feel happy. Nine years! He gave me roses this morning, we took a stroll around town, I got my hair cut, and we ate spring rolls in the park. Later tonight we’ll go out for dinner. Such a nice way to celebrate an anniversary.

I bought a bright red lip stick for the occasion, and had to wear the poodle shirt that I found yesterday. Poodles! I couldn’t not buy it, seeing as my infatuation with poodles has been well documented.

I also did something that I’ve been wanting to do for ages – I signed up to become a blood donor. There aren’t enough blood donors in Norway at the moment, and it seems like such a good thing to do. I’m already an organ donor, but I might as well help out a bit while I’m alive too, don’t you think? I’m dropping by the hospital tomorrow morning, and I’m a teensy bit nervous, but I bet the first time will be mostly paper work and a health checkup. Becoming a blood donor has been on my to-do list for 2010, and it’s always nice to be able to check something off your list.

Marius was nice enough to let me take a picture of the two of us together – this is where Sir David Attenborough would do a voice over and say something like “And here we see the elusive Boyfriend, a creature rarely photographed in the wild. Cameras tend to make it bury itself in the nearest hole, or deep below the sofa cushions while clutching his PS3 controller. Such a rare sight.”

Sir David Attenborough really should do voice overs for my life more often.

I’ve never been one to resist a good hair flip ;)

Today has been another wonderful spring day. Marius and I went shopping, and he reminded me of everything I would have otherwise forgotten – stores worth checking out, food I needed to buy, he even reminded me to buy wine for the 17th! Celebrating the Norwegian national day without a nice bottle of wine? It would have been a disaster!

I also found the striped top and white cardigan in the pictures above, and I made Marius buy a tie that would match the dress I plan on wearing on the 17th. I think I’ve found the thing I love the most about living in the middle of town – being able to stop buy the apartment and leave shopping bags behind before heading back out again!

We’re home for good now though, I think I’ll make some burritos in a little while, and maybe go out and take some pictures? Who knows. I love not having plans :)

But today is Monday, and I somehow thought it was a good idea to tell Marius “sure, I’ll clean a bit before work! Scrub some floors, wash the bathroom, no problem!” Ugh, big mistake :)

But today is Monday, Bergen is no longer covered in snow, and the temperature is finally showing double digits. It’s raining, but I really don’t mind, and decided it was time to take the mini skirt out for a spin.

It’s still paired with a wool sweater though. I mean, (Ricardo, that one’s for you!) let’s not get over-excited, this is still Bergen after all. Now, where did I put my umbrella..

Please don’t take too much notice of the face, I’ve been at work until 8pm and the makeup is all wonked up! Oh and I still haven’t found my remote control, so I have to run back and forth between photos.. Very impractical, if you ask me  :)

It’s been a busy few days for me, but I think it might be starting to slow down now. It’s my own fault really, for making 2-hour workout plans. Two hours! What can I say, the recent news of being treated to a trip abroad made a bit more obsessed motivated to work on the “bikini body”. Ugh, I hate that expression, like you need a certain level of fitness to wear a bikini. And here I am, reinforcing that view by doing 2-hour workouts. Yes, I do see the irony! However, I also see some muscle-tone in there waiting to poke out, so I guess I’ll just be a walking contradiction this summer. It’s the new black, really.

Uh, where was I. Yes! I called the Mulberry store today, and there seems to be a real shortage of Alexa bags in brown (or “Oak”, as the Mulberries like to call it). So I might have to wait an extra week. Or two weeks. Or three. Who knows? They had received a shipment of black Alexas, and I thought for a moment about switching, but no. I like to oak too much, and I keep imagining how beautifully worn the leather will be in 5-10 years time. So oak it is!

But there’s one thing that was in store, and that’s my new cell phone! It’s on it’s way as we speak, and I can’t wait to get my grabby hands on it, a brand new HTC Desire. My current phone dies several times a day now, so this will be a welcome upgrade. I also got a big fat discount through my job, so it won’t hurt my bank balance at all. Happy faces all around!

Outfit time. I chose to wear my “sausage jeans” today. I ordered them from topshop.com a few weeks back, and they are unbelievably tight. Not as in the wrong size, but as in made to be the skinniest jeans you ever owned. I struggle to get them over my heel! However, I think they’re wearable as long as there’s a long top involved. In the future I’ll just steer away from super-skinny jeans altogether. Straight leg or bootcut all the way. Or really, who am I fooling. SKIRTS!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go wax my mustache.

I know, I know, I should have been prepared for this, I’ve been taking care of myself since I was 18 after all, but it really hit me full force today. And of course the fact that my teeny weeny kid sister just turned 17 might also have something to do with it. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the perks of being a grown-up. I make money, I can eat junk food, I can stay up as long as I want, and spend my money however I please (Except of course for the fact that I know that if I eat junk I get fat, if I stay up late I will have a terrible day at work, and if I don’t pay my bills they’ll just grow in size and eat me. True fact!).

Speaking of the blog, I’m so happy that you like the little makeover! I’m really pleased with it, I think it stands out a little bit more now. I plan to put a little more work into it from now on – my latest outfit photo bonanza feels a bit like a cop out, and I plan to make amends. It is spring after all, and that alone makes me feel motivated. Sunshine is a wonderful thing, don’t you think?

This is what I wore today. Marius told me I look like someone out of a Tim  Burton movie, which is pretty much the greatest compliment this girl can get. I think it’s the stripes :)

Today I’m, wearing shorts. I don’t care that it’s only 5 degrees celcius outside, it’s April and thus I’m wearing shorts. Hmph.
