Anti fur demonstration

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I’ll write today’s post in Norwegian, seeing as only people in Norway can attend this :)

Facebookeventen for demonstrasjonene kan du finner her.

Jeg oppfordrer ALLE som engasjerer seg i denne saken til å møte opp og gå i tog for dyrs rettigheter!

Got 35 minutes to spare?

Take the time to watch this :)

That’s right, I’m wearing my feminist pants today!

Screenshot from the website of Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet:

Translation for you non-Norwegian folks: The article to the left says “The Virus can no longer be stopped – pandemic dangerously close”. The right one says “Media coverage blown completely out of proportion”. A rare moment of clarity in the midst of tabloid hysterics? Probably not. In other news, Bergen is completely sold out of face masks, even though there has been no cases of the swine flu in Norway whatsoever.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go outside and sneeze on someone. I mean Come on!

So far so good

I’m on my lunch break, and have done pretty good on my turning a new leaf so far. I’ve read an article, and started outlining my term paper for my modern art class. I got a bit side-tracked upon realizing I’ve been nominated for officer of The Bruces – I immediately forgot about my paper and started my campaigning instead. I even made a convincing political poster that is sure to sweep voters off their feet.

Maremiel is my in-game character. I’d vote for me. Twice.

Next step will be to make t-shirt prints and buttons, and spread false reputations about my competition. Possibly bribe the media.

In other news, I’ve come up with the perfect plan to become the perfect student.

- I shall get out of bed no later than 8am
- I shall bring all my knick-knacks with me to the library and study there on any day that isn’t a gym-day. If it’s a gym day it will mean I’ll spend 2 hours that day walking, which really isn’t optimal time management, so I’m allowed to study at home on gym days.
- Sweatpants and hoodies are NOT allowed to be worn any later than 9am, as they promote a laid-back lifestyle. Perfect students are not laid-back.
- Books are banned on Sundays. BANNED!
- Watching of Oprah will be allowed on occasion, but only if I have already spent a goof portion of the morning studying.

There. That ought to set me straight!

Paint those eggs! Stuff those faces!

I guess it’s officially easter now, happy easter! is there anyone besides me out there who remembers those big orange flavored chocolates that were shaped like an orange? And you could smack it against a table or something and the slices would separate all nicely? I think they should bring that chocolate back for easter, it was soo good. I tried to find a picture of it, but I couldn’t find any :( I guess I’ll have to settle for non-orange shaped, orange flavored chocolate, sigh..

Marius made pancakes the other day. Every time we are having pancakes for dinner, it turns into a huge discussion, because I insist on eating potatoes with my pancakes. I don’t know anyone else who do this, but I find it completely bizarre to have a dinner with no vegetables. It’s egg, flour and milk! I refuse to treat eggs, flour and milk as a complete meal, sorry. Anyway, my potatoes were treated as some kind of pariah, and even though Marius was responsible for dinner that day, I had to take care of them myself. He dropped them into a pot of water and turned the heat on, the rest was up to me. My poor poor potatoes. He wouldn’t even serve them, I had to do that as well. But it was a good dinner in the end, I hadn’t had pancakes in ages! We also eat them with a bacon, blueberry jam and a sprinkle of sugar, but those are things we agree on. The potatoes are all mine.

As for today, I caught some early classes at the gym and am now about to start either drawing or writing on my bachelor paper, I haven’t quite decided yet. Tomorrow I’m taking the whole day off :D I’ll watch Oprah in my pjs and play the wii all day, wooh!

Edit: The chocolate orange exists! Hooray! :D
