Intermission

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

I got up at 5.15 this morning in order to catch my plane to Molde. Met family, met dog, went shopping with my mom, found second hand goodies, and somehow I also managed to photograph a pony. It is now not even 7pm now, and I could fall asleep right where I’m sitting. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow.. *yawn* :)

I’ve decided to get better at blogging outfits. Actually, I’ve decided on a few things lately that I will do to improve my blog, but I don’t want to reveal all of it right now, so for now, outfit blogging is all you get. Here’s what I’m wearing today:

I woke up and felt moody for no real reason this morning – I sat like a bag of potatoes on front of my laptop for a whole hour before I even bothered to get dressed, thinking about horrible things like not buying the Alexa and saving the money for something more useful. Fortunately Maren sent me a text message and talked some sense into me – I’ve wanted that bag for months and saved up like I’ve never saved up for anything before in my life. It’s the ultimate symbol of me ending my studies and having a job and finally being able to buy exactly what I want for myself.  So yes, of course do I need to buy it!

As you might have deducted, smartiepants that you are, I’m back in Bergen now. I flew to Oslo at 06:50 yesterday morning (ouch!) and had to wait at the airport there for over 2 hours before my plane left for Bergen. Despite having slept (and very possibly drooled while doing so) on the plane, I fell asleep as soon as I entered our apartment.

Did everyone have a nice Easter holiday? :)

Update from moverville

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Hello again! The last few days have been crazy. Crazy!

On Tuesday we moved in all our stuff into the new apartment. We were probably done at around 9pm and ended up eating Chinese take-away on the bedroom floor because we hadn’t had time to buy groceries. The apartment was freezing cold, so we slept fully dressed. We didn’t get to do any unpacking, but we did decide on where to put things, at least. State of mind: Bliss.

Yesterday we cleaned the old apartment top to bottom, which took all night. Still no time to unpack. State of mind: Bliss + loopy from all the detergents.

Today we’ve been at Ikea all day while spending a small fortune (Ok, teensy weensy fortune, this is Ikea after all!) on some new furniture and other necessities. So bottom line is – we still haven’t had time to unpack. And we won’t get to do it tomorrow, because tomorrow I work late. Oh, and did I mention our bed didn’t fit at all? It was too big to even fit up the stairs leading up to our apartment! So we gave away the bed, and are getting a new one tomorrow. We’ve been sleeping on the floor until now! Still happy :)

This is all we’ve had time to unpack so far: The sofa, the laptops, and Alfred the unkept bonzai tree. The bare necessities. So please be patient – I can’t wait to show you photos of the place, I just want it to be all set before I do ;)

I have to tell you, Marius and I have surprisingly similar tastes in decorating, and we’ve agreed on pretty much every placement, color and new piece of furniture so far. I can’t wait for Saturday, I’m going to stay inside and unpack and take it easy all weekend. Then I will bore you all with a post filled with new curtains, bedside tables and closet placements ;)

There and back again

I have now, just now, finally been able to sit my butt down long enough to write a few words. Christmas, yikes! So much going on :) I thought I’d write you a little recap before I carry on with the Christmas posts. It’s been an eventful week, you see.

Monday: Flew to Oslo around 9am. Did some window shopping – wait, who am I kidding – actual shopping, and relaxed at the hotel. In the evening we saw Eddie Izzard live at Oslo spektrum, and it was amazing. The man is too funny for words! I sat right in front of the stage, 11th row, and had a great view. I’m so going to see that man live again!

Christmas dress of the year! I’ve been hunting for this bad boy in Molde AND Bergen AND Ålesund, but there were none left in my size. Oslo, you never disappoint. Also: 50% off.

Poofy underskirt, to de-sluttify aforementioned bad boy.

Eiffel tower neclace, also something I’ve been hunting for. Bergen was sold out, Downtown Oslo was sold out – Oslo airpoirt had it!

Eddie’s stage. Eddie’s twitter feed seen on the right.

Flat hair, awesome shirt.

Tuesday: Up at 5am. Plane to Molde at 8.40. My Grandpa’s funeral at 1. It was beautiful. I helped carry the casket.

Wednesday: Went shopping with my little sister early in the morning because she still had presents left to buy. *Cough* amateur *cough*! She’s also a slow shopper, so in the end I went to the library to read books on poodles and dog training. When we got back home there was wrapping of presents and sneaky secretive skulking. My old friend Line came to visit, too, and by the time I went to bed I had finished two dog books!

Unrelated – I received a photo of Nina’s blog present! I made her a monster notebook.

And that’s it! A Christmas post is right around the corner :)

Just thought I’d let you know that I’m traveling up to Molde again today, to see my granddad. I will catch you all over the weekend.

P.s: The presents I made Sofi, Caroline, Nina and Gudrun are all in the mail. Please let me know when you’ve received them, girls. It would really brighten up my day.
